RVing in Europe

europeI lived in Germany for a little over five years and traveled extensively throughout Europe. Something I have missed over the years and long to do again. There is so much of Europe I have missed and some dear friends there that mean the world to me. Additionally, RVing in Europe is the perfect opportunity to revisit what I’ve missed.

Aside from my travels throughout the US, I plan on spending part of the year traveling throughout Europe and other parts of the world. I am looking at shipping a smaller Class C RV to Europe and keeping it stored there. This will allow me to  travel back and forth. People ask why ship a rig, why not just rent one there. After doing the math and looking at all the options, it turns out the ROI is much better and faster. We’ll start with what has been the bible of RVing in Europe: Take Your RV to Europe by Adelle and Ron Milavsky. I have posted a link below for you to check it out. The book is a little dated, but the information provided is a foundation to get you started. I think it will also help you feel more comfortable about the decision.

Together we’ll explore RVing (Caravan in European terms) throughout Europe. Whether you are shipping your RV or renting an RV you will learn a lot. Learn the special needs, brokers, shipping companies, places to stay and how to travel Europe affordably.  This will continually be updated as I prepare to ship an RV to Europe, and as I travel throughout different countries.

Look forward to hearing about it. We have been all over North America in our RV and traveled a lot in Europe, but never by RV. Seems like it would be great so we will be excite to see how it goes for you.

I’m looking forward to it, having traveled in Europe a lot I know there is so much to see. By trying to do it in 2-6 weeks jaunts you just miss so much. So after talking to others and reading their experiences the math just made sense, being able to stay for 3 months at a time with no hotel and the ability to prepare your own meals. I’ll be covering it all.
