My Travel Gear

As a Designer, I love color and object placement. This has really driven a passion to learn photography which allows me to not only capture my travel memories but helps me keep my creative juices flowing. I’d have to say that a nice camera is one of the most important pieces of my travel gear. I used to shoot with my Nikon D3200 and associated lens but always found it too heavy and bulky when traveling. About six months ago I switched over to a Sony and absolutely love it. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. So I have been expanding my arsenal.

Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Power Zoom Lens: Not cheap, but an outstanding all around camera for shooting Still, Action, and Video. 79-point focal plane phase-detection AF sensor. The compact, lightweight camera delivers superb image quality – via newly developed 24.3-effective-megapixel (approx.) Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine – as well as highly intuitive operation thanks to an OLED Tru-Finder and two operation dials.

Sony SEL35F18 – 35mm f/1.8 Prime Fixed Lens Essentials Bundle: An outstanding go-to lens for close up and portrait images.

Sony SEL1018 10-18mm Wide-Angle Zoom Lens Bundle: The SEL-1018 super wide-angle zoom lens is perfect for taking photos of sweeping landscapes and producing striking images with emphasized perspective.

Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens: I just ordered this and am planning on using it for my wildlife shots. I love getting out into nature and shooting wildlife images.

Sony FE 2.0x Teleconverter: This will be going with the FE 70-200mm Lens to extend the range.

EezTire – Tire Pressure and Temperature Monitoring System (TPMS): I simply believe this is the best system on the market. It has one of the largest monitors available and is easy to see from a distance. You can also set the alarm parameters by axle yourself so you are not locked into any factory presets. All sensors have replaceable batteries and the new T515 Anti-Theft sensor is one of the smallest on the market and has a battery life of 3-4 years. The system comes with a 3-year warranty and 24/7 Technical Support. How strongly do I feel about this product: so darn much I recently designed and wrote the user manual, chances are if you call for tech support I will be the one helping you out and most of all – I use the system myself!

Premium High Back Directors Chair: I can talk about these all I want, but once you sit in them you will see why they are the “bomb” when it comes to comfy chairs. They sit about two inches higher than other chairs so they are easy to get in and out of. Also, they are a padded high back so you don’t have the crease running across the middle of your back. Chairs come with anti-tip devices and no limit on the amount of nap time you can enjoy. They truly are the talk of “happy hour.”

LED Bulbs: Look for yourself, the styles and technology are not stuck in the dark ages. Some of the coolest and most practical designs on the market. All the bulbs come with the latest heat sink technology and are regulated to handle voltage fluctuations between 9 and 16 volts. Man, they brighten up the place and really reduce the draw on your system. Did you know when it comes to energy draw you can normally run 8 LED bulbs for every 1 Incandescent? That’s enough to make any boondocker a happy camper!
Disclaimer:  These are all products I feel strongly about, use and support. I also want you to realize life is real and travel gear can cost you a buck or two. So yea, this is one of those things that I do make a few bucks on when you order. I do earn a bit through the companies affiliate program, however there is no cost to you; the price is still the same. Rest assured I wouldn’t recommend them to you if I didn’t use them myself!  Why do I mention this? Because I want you to feel comfortable with the content on my site and that it comes from my heart.
